John Deneer

I was introduced to the game by my Opa, Peter Deneer who was the long time Golf Course Superintendent at the Lethbridge Country Club.  I played all of my competative junior and amateur golf in Manitoba before enrolling in the Professional Golf Management program in Lethbridge, AB.  I took a leap, and accepted the Golf Services Manager position at Bearspaw working under Wib Lamb and I couldnt have asked for a better place to start or a better individual to guide me through the first and formative PGA years.   Wib and Barry Babcock have been and continue to be my mentors in the industry and I am forever grateful for all they’ve given and helped me with. 

I am the Director, High Performance with Alberta Golf and am based out of Earl Grey Golf Club for teaching and coaching. 

Within my role with Alberta Golf, I am responsible for supporting athletes with their development and assisting in their goal of attaining a post secondary scholarship.  This includes game and skill development initiatives, providing safe sport guidance and resources along with building and maintaining relationships with players and familes throughout the province. 

I am forever grateful for what golf has allowed me to experience and opportunities it has presented!
