Jim Jempson Bursary Application

Established in 2024 by the PGA of Alberta, the Jim Jempson Bursary, is one (1) bursary of $2,500 that will go to a deserving Apprentice Professional.

Jim Jempson, a life member of the PGA of Canada and recipient of the PGA of Alberta Lifetime Achievement Award, believed in promoting excellence and growing the game of golf. The reputation of the PGA of Alberta as the most trusted resource in golf is built upon the sportsmanship and ethical practices embodied by our members, like Jim Jempson. The recipient of this bursary will be someone who puts into practice these same ideals and in so doing, will be honouring Jim’s memory.

All seasonal and year-round Apprentice Professionals are eligible and encouraged to apply.

The Jim Jempson Bursary winner will be announced at the PGA of Alberta Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at the Calgary BMO Centre, following the close of the second day of the PGA of Alberta Buying Show.

The deadline to submit the below application is September 30, 2024, by the end of the day.

BURSARY CRITERIA

1. PARTICIPATION IN ASSOCIATION AND INDUSTRY EVENTS: Please outline the commitment you have made to participate in programs and events offered by the Association, within the golf industry, and/or outside the golf industry (including, but not limited to, tournaments, education, professional development, etc.). * (Maximum 500 Words)

2. List special achievements and/or recognitions in other areas such as education, sport, and more. * (Maximum 500 Words)

3. VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE: Please outline the commitments you have made to volunteer within the Association and the golf industry, as well as outside the golf industry. * (Maximum 500 Words)

4. EDUCATION: Please include your educational background along with your current education plans and ambitions. * (Maximum 500 Words)

5. WORK EXPERIENCE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Please outline the steps you have made along your career path and detail the responsibilities you currently have at your facility. * (Maximum 500 Words)
