PGA of Alberta Bursary Program

The PGA of Alberta will present four (4) bursaries of $1,000 each to deserving Apprentice Professionals and/or Class "A" Professionals who meet or exceed the bursary criteria outlined below.  

 All seasonal and year-round Apprentice Professionals and Class "A" Professionals (who are not employed as Head/Executive Professionals) are eligible and encouraged to apply to be a recipient of one of the four (4) bursaries.  A minimum of two (2) bursaries will be reserved for seasonal Apprentice Professionals (working nine months or less). All information will be held in strict confidence.

The bursary winners will be announced at the PGA of Alberta Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at the Calgary BMO Centre, following the close of the second day of the PGA of Alberta Buying Show.

Jim Jempson, a life member of the PGA of Canada and recipient of the PGA of Alberta Lifetime Achievement Award, believed in promoting excellence and growing the game of golf.

The reputation of the PGA of Alberta as the most trusted resource in golf is built upon the sportsmanship and ethical practices embodied by our members, like Jim Jempson. The recipient of this bursary will be someone who puts into practice these same ideals.

Established in 2024 by the PGA of Alberta, the Jim Jempson Bursary, is one (1) bursary of $2,500 that will go to a deserving Apprentice Professional. All seasonal and year-round Apprentice Professionals are eligible and encouraged to apply.
