Born and raised in Brooks, Alberta, Shelley’s passion for golf came from her parents at a young age. Growing up playing multiple sports at a competitve level included volleyball, hockey, fastball, badminton and of course golf. She was able to attain a scholarship playing badminton during her first two years of post secondary and was also a part of the golf team. Shelley holds a degree in Physical Education and Sports Studies from the University of Alberta. After graduation, she was introduced to Dave Clark from Shawnee Slopes by her uncle and that is where her path to the PGA began.
Shelley is an accomplished Canadian PGA Professional with over 34 years of progressive experience in the golf industry. She joined Pinebrook Golf & Country Club as the Director of Golf in 2018 where she is currently, and prior to that was the Executive Professional and General Manager at Brooks Golf Club for eight years, and previously held golf professional positions with the Cottonwood Golf Club, Eaglequest Golf and the Country Hills Golf Club.
Over the years as an Alberta PGA member, she has served on several key committees including the Consumer Show Committee, the Education Committee, and currently serve on the Buying Show Committee. She is also a member of the Club Management Association of Canada (CMAC) for over 13 years, where she currently hold positions on the Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Committee and the Governance Committee.
Shelley is a talented and passionate golf instructor, simplifying golf for the enjoyment of the game. She was voted one of the top 50 instructors in North America by Golf Range Magazine in 2007 & 2008. Although not playing as competitively now as she once was, she won the PGA of Alberta Ladies Championship in 1998, 1999, & 2004, and was also six time winner of the Alberta PGA Ladies Series Tour.
