Richard was born in Etobikoe, Ontario. He moved out to Calgary with his family at the age of 10. He had the opportunity to live in South Carolina for two years, where his passion for the game increased. He returned to Calgary to finish High school and continued to play the game of golf as a member at Turner Valley GC until he beacme a member of the PGA of Alberta.
He is now in his 29th year, 23rd as the Head Professional, at McKenzie Meadows Golf Club.
Richard is married to wife Tracy and has two children, Ethan and Alexis .
