Mark is originally from Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Playing all sports but golf while growing up, basketball lead him to St Francis Xavier University, where he played from 1991-1995 becoming National Champions in 1993. Graduating with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Psychology. After graduation Mark moved to Vancouver to explore further opportunities. Mark began his golf career in Vancouver as a shop assistant, 15 months after beginning the game he passed his play ability test. The next 5 years were spent in B.C. as an assistant working the majority of the time at The Dunes at Kamloops. In 2002 Mark was a member of the Canadian Tour experiencing the peaks and valleys of professional golf. From 2003-2005 Mark was Head Teaching Professional at Calgary Family Golf Centre. He then spent 2 years as the Head Professional at Shaw-nee Slopes Golf Course where he was also certified and taught under the Jim Mclean Teaching System. Today, Mark has begun his second year as an Associate Golf Professional at the Pinebrook golf and Country Club. Since moving to Calgary, Mark met and married Kim and they have two sons, Jack and Lincoln.
