I grew up in Surrey, British Columbia and was introduced to the game of golf by my grandpa when he took my younger brother and I to local pitch and putts. While I played golf a couple of times per year along with many other sports, my passion was always baseball. I ultimately earned a scholarship to play college baseball in the United States while earning a degree in exercise science. As I was finishing my final semesters after my baseball career ended, my spark for golf reignited. I played frequently at a small 9 hole golf course in Ellensburg, Washington and started playing and practising whenever I had free time. After returning home from university in 2017, I worked part time both in the fitness industry and in the pro shop at Fort Langley Golf Course. I continued working in both industries while playing more often myself and starting to play in provincially sanctioned amateur events and on the Vancouver Golf Tour. In 2020 I combined my two passions and began working at Elevation Fitness alongside Brett Saunders and his golf academy at Morgan Creek Golf Course. Over the next two years I worked with many of the top junior golfers in British Columbia and many young touring professionals helping them improve their golf games through strength, mobility, and athletic based training.
In 2022 my wife and I made a difficult decision to leave the lower mainland and decided to move to Calgary. I began working at Bearspaw Golf Club and building my own business, McComb Performance, continuing to help golfers with golf specific fitness training. In 2023 I earned my PGA of Canada membership and am excited to further my role at Bearspaw as one of their assistant professionals while also working with Kyle Miller Golf Inc. at the Golf Centre at Harvest Hills. I will be teaching golf lessons as well as providing golf-specific fitness instruction to both individuals and groups at both locations and independently. I look forward to helping as many golfers as I can while building upon my niche as one of the few fitness professionals within the golf industry.
