I am a former collegiate and tour professional who has been teaching/coaching the game for over 20 years. Joining The Glencoe in 2024 is my first job in Alberta, with almost my entire career having been on the west coast. I’ve been lucky to start and direct academies at Olympic View and Bear Mountain in Victoria and most recently, was the Director of Golf and Academy at Morningstar in Parksville, BC. Helping golfers and fellow professionals be better and have more fun is what I enjoy doing the most. Making the odd 15-footer is also nice...
Q. What do you enjoy most about the game and the business of golf? Every course and every student is a new puzzle we get to figure out so no day is the same. |
Q. What or who influenced you in becoming a Golf Professional? Classic Canadian - wanted to play in the NHL, wasn’t good enough. I was good at golf so chased the PGA Tour dream for 10 years, wasn’t good enough. Got into teaching and coaching and have never looked back! |
Q. What would you be doing if you weren’t a Golf Professional? I would really like to be involved in sports broadcasting in some way. |
Q. What is your favourite golf course in the world? As of March 2024, Durban Country Club. This may change with so much great golf in the Calgary area... |
Q. Who is your favourite PGA Tour player? Big fan of all the Canadians but if I had to pick one player, I think it would be Ricky Fowler. He’s so good with the young fans. |
Q. What is the first club you take out of your bag on the driving range? Sand Wedge |
Q. What is the most number of holes of golf you have played in one day? 72 |
Q. What is your career low round and where did you shoot this score? 60 is my low score but it was only 7-under at Cedar Hill in Victoria. Round I’m most proud of would be a 65 at Morgan Creek in Vancouver. |
Q. What significant accomplishments are you most proud of? I am very proud of having won the PGA of BC Teacher of the Year award three times spanning 18 years. |
Q. What other interests, hobbies and passions can you share? I am a big sports fan. |
