Kananaskis Country Golf Course is picturesque 36 hole Robert Trent Jones Sr. facility in the heart of the Canadian Rockies - 60 minutes from Calgary. The fully public facility has a setting like very few others in the world. Mountains that are close enough to touch, surrounded by two breathtaking golf courses with incredible views on every hole. Tee times are sold out on an annual basis not only because of the amazing setting but more importantly because of the way the K-team treats its guests with gratitude and open arms.
On June 20th of 2013 in the middle of an epic rainstorm that saw 330 mm of rain fall in 18 hours, the entire faciity was sieged by a flood that wiped out all 36 holes and did a tremendous amount of damage to Southern Alberta. With the assistance of designer Gary Browning and Kan-Alta Golf management Ltd. - the Government of Alberta made the decision to restore the courses in July of 2014 and the project took four years to complete. In May of 2018 both Mt. Lorette and Mt. Kidd were re-opened to rave reviews as the facility was given a total facelift which included a restoration, new irrigation system, facility upgrades in the Pro Shop and Clubhouse and tournament center.
