Terry Carter and Darryl James of the National Golf Academy at McCall Lake won their second straight Callaway Golf Pro-Assistant today at Heritage Pointe GC. Carter and James made birdie on their final two holes to edge the Riverside Golf Academy team of Rob McLeay and Garett Jenkinson by a single shot. Three teams (Lakeside GC, Glendale G&CC and Royal Mayfair GC) finished three shots behind in a tie for third.
Dean Sklarenko and Dallas Lequyer of the Picture Butte GC shot a 9-under par round today at the Heritage Pointe GC to take a one-shot lead entering the final round of the 2011 Callaway Golf Pro-Assistant. Jeff Cuthbertson and Ryan Doucette of the Cougar Creek GR sit one shot back after posting 8-under on the day, while three teams (Inglewood G&CC, National Golf Academy at McCall Lake and Riverside Golf Academy) sit two shots back at 7-under par.
The draw has been posted for the 2011 Callaway Golf Pro-Assistant. 76 teams will compete over two days at the Heritage Pointe GC in Calgary. The event will be a 10:00am shotgun both days.
Mike Belbin shot a 1-under round of 71 today to cap a great week at the Cherry Hill Club in Ontario and capture the 2011 PGA of Canada Assistants' Championship. Belbin defeated Bryn Parry by four shots for his first national title.
Keith Whitecotton (Edmonton Petroleum G&CC) defeated Dave Henzie (Calgary Elks Lodge & GC) six and five at the Red Deer G&CC to win the 2011 Match Play Championship. Dale Tomlinson (Carstairs GC) defeated Tyson Cote (Lewis Estates G&CC) to win the Consolation bracket four and three.
Head Professional Dean Sklarenko and Apprentice Chris DiPasquale of the Picture Butte GC combined for a best-ball score of 7-under 64 to win the 2011 G&G Golf Company Pro-Pro Best Ball today at The Ranch GC. Blair Buttar and Greg McGarry of the Glendale G&CC finished one shot behind after a 6-under 65, while three other teams finished in a tie for third at 5-under for the event.
Keith Whitecotton of the Edmonton Petroleum G&CC will defend his 2010 Match Play Championship in this year's final against Dave Henzie of the Calgary Elks Lodge GC on Friday, September 16th at the Red Deer G&CC. On the consolation side, Tyson Cote of the Lewis Estates GC will take on Dale Tomlinson of the Carstairs GC. The final matches hit the course beginning at 10:32am.
Robert Toshack of the Academy at Golf Town - Edmonton North won the final stop on the 2011 Callaway Professional Series today at the Sundre GC, shooting a 2-under par 70 to hold off Mike Fahey of the Goose Hummock GR by a single shot. Ryan Doucette of the Cougar Creek GR finished alone in third place after an even-par 72.
Troy Prusky of the Lakeside GC shot a 2-under par round of 69 today at the Jasper Park Lodge GC to win the 2011 Fletcher PGA of Alberta Tour Championship. Prusky's two-day total of 7-under 135 was enough for a two-shot victory over Scott Allred of the Elbow Springs GC. Gary Hartford of the Riverside GC finished alone in third three shots off the pace.
The draw has been posted for the G&G Golf Company Pro Pro Best Ball, being held at The Ranch G&CC on Thursday, September 15th. 60 Teams are set to compete for the $20,000 purse.

Matt Freeman of the Canyon Meadows G&CC shot a 4-under par 67 to sit alone in second place, while Mark Corrigan of the Pinebrook G&CC, Kevin Broderson of the Lacombe G&CC and PGA of Alberta Member Kyle Wade sit two shots back after 3-under 68's.
Round One draw has been posted for the PGA of Alberta Tour Championship sponsored by Fletcher. Tee times will begin at 11:30am at the Jasper Park Lodge GC.
