Whitecotton determined to steal the Club Pro title from defending champion Scott Allred
Keith Whitecotton (Edmonton Petroleum G&CC) shot a two-under par 70 in round one of the Club Pro Championship at Priddis Greens G&CC to take the lead. Tied for second at one-under par are Scott Allred (Elbow Springs GC), Jason Stanier (Inglewood G&CC) and Joel Monk (Heatherglen GC).

Krulicki wins at Ponoka
Jordan Krulicki (BelvedereG&CC) wins his first event at the Golf Supply House Professional Series Event held at the Ponoka Community GC. Jordon had a six hole stretch of five birdies and an eagle on his way to shooting a 3-under 69. Finishing second was Craig Willis (Pioneer Meadows GC) shooting a 1-under 71 with Kevin Broderson (Lacombe G&CC)a close third at 72.

MILLER WINS LADIES CHAMPIONSHIP
The weather cooperated on day 2 of the Dexim Golfwear Ladies Championship held at Country Hills GC. Jacklynn Miller (Bearspaw CC) who shot 74 on day 1, fired a 76 today for a 2 day total of 150 to win her first PGA of Alberta Ladies Championship. Shooting 157 over the 2 days and finishing in second place was Jillian Wyne (Willow Park G&CC). Rounding out the top three was Elizabeth Goldsmith (Country Hills GC) who shot a two day total of 159.

The brand-new Li’l Devil short course at the Blue Devil GC is “for golfers, or even non-golfers, who are maybe a little intimidated by the big course,” explained Executive Professional Slade King. “It’s a perfect place to learn in a casual environment. LIGHTENING STRIKES IN ROUND ONE AT THE LADIES CHAMPIONSHIP
The lightening didn’t stop Jacklynn Miller (Bearspaw CC) from firing a 2-over 74 on the Talons course at Country Hills GC in the PGA of Alberta Ladies Championship sponsored by Dexim Golfwear. Not far behind, sitting in second place is Jillian Wyne (Willow Park G&CC) who shot 75. Sitting in third place and shooting a 77 is Marsha Rogers (The Derrick G&WC).

James/Kureluk Edge Out MacGregor/Stanier in Southern Match Play Quarter-Finals
Darryl James and Jamie Kureluk defeated Jeff MacGregor and Jason Stanier 1-up, advancing them to the semi-finals of the PGA of Alberta Team Match Play Championship. Only eight players remain in the championship with the semi-finals set to finish by August 21st.

The top 30 money winners from the 2013 Players' Tour events has been released. These top 30 will compete with the top 20 overall money winners (to be released August 21st) at the 2013 Tour Championship in September at the Canal at Delacour.

Team members, Lyndon King and Patrick Murphy of the Collicutt Siding GC and Dan McIntosh and Joel Douglas of the Highwood G&CC come out victorious at the 2013 Pro Junior South winning the Gross and Net divisions respectively. Darryl James (National Golf Academy @ Shaganappi) beat out Ron Laugher (Priddis Greens G&CC) and Matt Freeman (Canyon Meadows G&CC) in a five hole playoff to win the individual professional side.

Just ten days remain until the July 19th PGA of Alberta Junior Scholarship Deadline. Two scholarships of $1,500 will be handed out once again this year to aspiring junior golfers, please make sure any eligible applicants submit their forms in time.

Keith Whitecotton wins his second consecutive Playoff
Keith Whitecotton (Edmonton Petroleum G&CC) beat out Dallas Cantera (Edmonton CC) and Greg McGarry in a 1-hole playoff today after shooting a 1-under 70 to win the Golf Supply House Professional Series at the The Ranch GC. Chris Toth (Stony Plain GC) and Cameron Fawns (Country Hills GC) came tied for 4th after shooting a 1-over par of 72.

Two tie at Elbow Springs GC
Ron Laugher (Priddis Greens G&CC) and Garett Jenkinson (Riverside Golf Academy) both shot one-under par, 71 to finish as co-winners. Due to inclement weather the two agreed to forego a playoff and decided to split first-place. Tied for third with 72 were Mark Corrigan (Pinebrook G&CC) and Joel Monk (Heather Glen GC).

Belbin and Whitecotton stay hot at Montgomery Glen
36 holes weren’t enough to decide a winner for Mike Belbin (Royal Mayfair GC) and Keith Whitecotton (Edmonton Petroleum G&CC). The two players finished the tournament with six-under par totals of 138. After three-holes of sudden death golf, Keith Whitecotton finally edged out Mike Belbin to take home first place. Scott Anderson tied the course record with a 6- under par 66 to finish solo third at 5-under.
