Once the applicant’s profile has been approved, they can register for the 3 remaining Playing Ability Tests (P.A.T) in Alberta. After becoming a PGA of Canada applicant, please create a profile on the PGA of Alberta website before June 1st.

GSH Series Draw - River Spirit GC
The draw for the fourth Golf Supply House Series event at River Spirit GC is now posted. The event will be on Monday, June 4th. Field size is confirmed at 56 players with the purse set at $7,300. Crossover times begin at 8:00am.
New for this season, the Skins Pot for every GSH Series event will begin at $400 which is sponsored by IMPACT Tournament Systems. This boost into the Skins will bring added value for the participants by increasing the size of Skins available to be won.
Tournament of Champions Draw - McKenzie Meadows GC
The draw is now posted for the annual Tournament of Champions sponsored by Callaway Golf and hosted at McKenzie Meadows GC in Calgary. The tournament will see 52 Professionals and their 2017 Club Champions play in a best-ball format to determine this years Champions. The event will begin at 1pm on Tuesday, June 5th.
Tournaments are cruising along this season with the third Golf Supply House Series taking place today at Valley Ridge GC in Calgary. The event saw a packed field of Alberta’s top players all trying to take their share of the $8,450 purse. Teeing off in the final group and leaving everyone in the clubhouse in suspense, Wes Heffernan (Golf Canada Centre) wins his first PGA of Alberta event of the season after firing an unreal 7-under 65. To no surprise, Heffernan started the day on fire by going 5-under through nine allowing himself to play steady golf on the back nine to secure the win. Finishing tied for a distant second at 3-under 69 was Stefan Cox (Calgary G&CC), Josh Fleming (GOLFTEC), Riley Fleming (NGA Dome) and Craig Gibson (Sirocco GC).
Side note, congratulations to Dale Tomlinson (The Winston GC) on shooting his first Albatross ever on hole #8, par 5!
Jason Stanier (Inglewood G&CC) and Greg McGarry (Glendale G&CC) capture the third annual Golf Supply House Pro-Pro Scramble, hosted by Windermere G&CC. Stanier and McGarry won the event in a playoff against Kent Fukushima (Redwood Meadows G&CC) and Jamie Kureluk (GOLFTEC Calgary) after both teams posted low scores of 9-under 62. The playoff was on hole 18 where McGarry had a big drive down the middle and Stanier finished it off with a clutch birdie putt. There were four teams tied at 63 narrowly missing the chance to play extra holes.

Junior Masters Final Results
Taylor Stone (Pinebrook G&CC) was able to stay ahead of the competition on day 2 to win her first Junior Masters title by shooting a two day total of 144. Ethan Choi (Pincher Creek GC) remained calm under the pressure to match his score from day 1 with a 69. Click here to view the round 2 results.

The draw for the PGA of Alberta Pro-Pro Scramble is now available. The two-man scramble sponsored by Golf Supply House will take place on Monday, May 28th at Windermere G&CC in Edmonton. The shotgun will begin at 2pm.
After two days of perfect weather, one person successfully passed their Playing Ability Test at Alberta Springs GR. Congratulations to Michael Nutt of Jasper Park Lodge GC on being the newest Member of the PGA of Canada after shooting a two-day score of 155 to achieve the Class A Target Score.
PGA on Wheels Attends Annual Go Girl Event in Red Deer
The first PGA on Wheels event of the season saw the PGA of Alberta and Alberta Golf attend the annual Go Girl event at the Collicutt Centre in Red Deer to help grow the game to girls in the fifth grade. Over 110 girls were introduced to the sport and received golf instructions from the Professionals and Coaches that attended. Big thanks goes to our Professionals Marsha Rogers (The Derrick G&WC), Michelle Van Slyke (Belvedere G&CC), Shannon Raina (Sirocco GC) and Tiffany Gordon (Heritage Pointe Golf Academy) for taking time out of their day to help grow the game to the youth. Eric Locke (Priddis Greens G&CC) wins his first event of the season at Sirocco GC. Eric jumped off to a great start to the round after posting 3 birdies and 6 pars on the front nine and another 3 birdies and 6 more pars on the back nine, for a blistering bogey free 6-under 66 to capture the second Golf Supply House Series event of the season. In close second was Riley Fleming (NGA Dome) who posted a 5-under 67, continuing his great play from last week at Vulcan G&CC. Finishing just shy of Riley was Kent Fukushima (Redwood Meadows G&CC) 3-under 69.

Riley Fleming of the National Golf Academy Dome wasted no time to make an impression on the Association after firing a tournament best 5-under 65 at Vulcan G&CC for the first Golf Supply House Series event of the season. Riley started the day hot with birdies on four of the first five holes to put himself in a strong position for the rest of the round. Not without competition, finishing just shy of Riley was Kent Fukushima (Redwood Meadows G&CC) and Mark Corrigan (Mickelson National GC) both carding a 4-under 66. Three other players tied for fourth at 1-under 69.

Coverage can be purchased by visiting www.pgaofalberta.com and logging in to your member profile. Select your account (your name) in the top right-hand corner followed by “My Hole-In-One”. Step-by-step instructions will guide you through the purchasing process. Once completed, a confirmation is submitted to the PGA of Alberta Office and your request is then submitted on your behalf to Foster Park Insurance that day (any Hole-In-One requests made on weekends will be submitted first thing Monday morning). It’s as easy as that!
First Golf Supply House Series Event of the Season at Vulcan G&CC
The PGA of Alberta is thrilled to release the first draw of the 2018 season for the Golf Supply House Series. The event will be hosted at Vulcan G&CC on Monday, May 7th. Field size is confirmed at 47 players with the purse set at $6,250. Tee times begin at 9:00am.
